Ethan has been sick off and on or teething since he made one year old. I haven’t been able to do any kind of a photo session with for a while now. I knew that I would be free this afternoon, so the plan was to do Ethan’s 12 month pictures today. Well, he had other plans as we were up half the night with a crabby baby and then puked on at 6:30 this morning. He slept and nursed most of the day, but towards the end of the day he was in a pretty good mood so we went out for a very quick photo session.
We headed over the the Episcopal Church across the street. I think Ethan really enjoyed the fresh air. He had a good time crawling around and being crazy. We kept the session short, but I still got a lot of good images. We were there for less than 10 minutes and I got 19 keepers out of it. Here are my favorites of the keepers.

Poor guy is still working on some teeth. He’s always chewing on a finger.

Hmmm, how do I get down?!

This ridiculous fast crawl is why he won’t even try to walk

I spent this afternoon with a wonderful and fun couple, Allison and Wesley. I did not make a very good first impression as I LEFT MY CAMERA AT HOME!!! I had to run back and get it, and thank goodness we met just down the street from my house so it was a quick trip. I was afraid that they would have lost faith in me and left while I went back to get my gear. Thankfully, they were still there!
Allison and Wesley are young and fun-loving, really great people. Wesley was a real trooper throughout the session and a natural in front of the camera. Allison has the most beautiful complexion and eyes and FRECKLES! I love freckles! I had a lot of fun hanging out with these guys, and their love for each other reminded me myself and Aaron at that age. I can’t wait for their wedding next month!
Wesley, I didn’t notice this afternoon, but those are some mighty cool shoes.

Aww, sweetness

Allison is a natural beauty and I love how the black and white really emphasizes her creamy skin and beautiful eyes.

One of my favorites from the session – love the bit of sunflare here

And I love this one too

I have much more properly exposed shots from this row of trees, but I love Allison’s laugh in this picture, so I had to keep it.

mmmmmmm, golden warm sunset

I have so many favorite images from this session, it was hard to narrow it down to which I should post on the blog. I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek! I can’t wait to show you the rest

This morning I met with the V Family for a Holiday Mini Session. This was one CUTE family! The kids were so sweet and well behaved, and you can tell already that A will be such a wonderful big brother. He loves his sister
You can also feel the love the mom and dad have for each other and for their children. Just look at how happy Dad looks in this first picture. I love it!

Big brother looks a little unsure about the whole photo idea in that first shot, but don’t let him fool you. He warmed up in no time and had lots of fun for the camera.

Baby girl has the most beautiful deep brown eyes

See how much he adores his little sister?

This one is a bit of an outtake, but it is one of my favorites from the whole session. I love his personality! He was so sweet and so much fun today.

Thank you to the V Family for spending the morning with me!

Ethan turned one a few weeks ago, and I would like to share some images from his parties. I tried some different processing techniques on these. Nothing too crazy, but it is different for me.

Ok so the last one is a bit crazy. But it was not a very pretty photo, so I needed to do something interesting with it. I really liked the icing and his expression and that the cake is turned with the writing towards the viewer. I think the split toning works because Blue and Tan were the only two colors in the photo anyway. This just enhances them. Or so I hope….
I was also happy to see that my proof generator action works for square photos as well.
