Nursery Contest Winner!

Thank you to all of the entrants in the Nursery Contest! I saw many cute and creative nurseries throughout this contest, and our two of the entrants qualified for the final vote. Voting ended at midnight last night, and I am now ready to announce the winner!

The winner of this contest recieves a free mini photography session in their nursery, approximately 30 minutes in length resulting in 10 to 15 digital proofs in an online gallery, a print package including an 8×10, 2 5×7s, and 2 sheets of wallets, and VIP pricing on any further purchases. The runner up receives 50% off a session fee and VIP prices on gift prints!

The Nursery Contest!

Is your baby under 18 months old?
Do you have a super cool nursery?
Would you be interested in winning a free mini session and print package?
Do you live in Pearl River, Forrest, Hancock, Harrison, Lamar, or Stone county?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, we would love to see pictures. What’s in it for you? A chance to win a free mini photography session featuring your baby and your nursery! We would like to see between 1-4 photographs of your space. At least one photograph must include your child in the nursery itself. We are looking for creative use of light, color and design elements. Images must be taken by you or someone in your family (we are really saying “please don’t submit images taken by another professional photographer.”)

All submissions must be received by midnight, March 5, 2010.

Entries will be judged by a panel of photographers who will narrow down the selection to 5 nurseries. The finalists will be posted on participating photographer’s blogs and the winner will be chosen via a public voting poll. Voting will occur between March 7-March 13, 2010. There are specific rules around voting that will be clarified during the voting round of the contest.

Winners will be announced on March 15, 2010.

The grand prize includes a free mini photography session, approximately 30 minutes in length resulting in 10 to 15 digital proofs in an online gallery, a print package including an 8×10, 2 5×7s, and 2 sheets of wallets, and VIP pricing on any further purchases. Every entry (one per household, please) that meets the rules of the contest will receive a coupon for a discounted session just for participating! Winning session must take place between March 22 – April 25. Winners must sign a release to allow participating photographers to display images on blog, website, Facebook Business Page and any other print or web materials as deemed appropriate.

The Fine Print.

This is our contest, we make the rules. We have researched many different ways of voting and there are pros and cons and hanging chads in just about every method out there. This is how we have decided to run our contest, if it’s not a fit for you, we respectfully accept your decision to decline participation. We also know there are ways to work around the system, so we will actively monitor IP addresses and research anything that appears to be fishy. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that appears to be suspicious.

All participants must agree to sign a model release allowing images to be displayed on participating blogs. Participant’’s nurseries must be located in one of the following Mississippi counties: Pearl River, Stone, Hancock, or Harrison. Participant must have a child under 18 months old at the time of contest entry. Winning participants must sign a release allowing images taken by participating photographers to be displayed on web site, blog, Facebook and print advertising sources. Participants must also agree to standard Terms & Conditions of participating photographers.

Winning participants will receive a complimentary session focusing on nursery, baby and/or family as outlined by participating photographer. Additional items may also be included. Regular session terms and conditions apply.

We require an electronically marked consent that you are entering this contest voluntarily and that participating photographer is not promising any winnings or other compensation for participation.

Christmas Mini Session with Miss A

As a followup to my full session with Angelle, I also did a mini session at her home to capture some shots of her in her Christmas dress. She really has such a vibrant personality. I just love this series of images which really show off her expressions.

And I also took a few pictures of her in her beautiful nursery, although she was not too happy about being in the crib.

Another Christmas session! Every year the B family comes to me for beautiful portraits and Christmas cards, and I always look forward to our sessions. This time Jack was more interested in being a typical toddler than having his picture taken. Lots of serious faces! He was actually really great. He sat right down and looked right at me!

But he did make me work a bit to get a smile!

Sneak Peek – Ashton

This afternoon I had another session with my buddy, Ashton! Ashton is getting so big, I cannot believe it! He’s now a year old and on the verge of walking, and of course, just as sweet as ever

To follow up from my last post, here he is with Miss Angelle, just after she planted a big kiss on his cheek.

Sneak Peek – Angelle

I had another wonderful session with Miss Angelle today. Miss A is now walking! And talking! And just as cute as she can be. Angelle is so sweet and I bet she has never met a stranger.

Allie & Ethan

Again, another not so sneak peek! My youngest sister Allie came in town for Ethan’s birthday last month. It was her birthday month as well. My gift to Allie was a photography session with Ethan to capture images for an awesome wall display for her new apartment. Although I’ve already released her gallery and designed her wall display, I wanted to come back to the blog and share a few of my favorites from her session.

I apologize for the humongous share, but I just can’t help it! These are two of my favorite people and this was honestly one of my favorite photo sessions. The color and emotion were amazing!

Sneak Peek – Baby G

Yesterday afternoon I had the pleasure of photographing sweet baby G. He was wide awake and alert our entire session, but he barely fussed. He was so quiet and sweet – a pleasure to photograph.

Here are my favorite images from our session. I hope you enjoy!

This hat was a special request by Baby G’s mother. I usually do not prefer to see the diaper in a photo, but something about this hat and this image made the diaper seem appropriate. And don’t let him fool you… He’s not sleeping. I just caught him mid blink!

A morning with Ethan

A cute “snapshot session” with my baby boy. I went in the room to get a picture of him sleeping with his butt in the air and he woke up when I walked in the room. He’s so cute in the mornings, I thought I’d take a few snapshots. And apparently he is an email junkie like his mommy and must check his email ASAP. Email cheers him up in the morning.

Angelle – Sneak Peek!

After my session with Ashton, I got to focus my attention on two beautiful young ladies If you recognize Angelle, be sure not to mention these photos to Dad until after Father’s Day. Its a surprise!

Doesn’t she look like a little doll?

There is something about this image that I love. Well, many things actually. The dramatic lighting and the way it makes their skin glow, the way that mom is gazing at her daughter with so much love, it just speaks to me.
